Egypt’s 205 Project Advances in Sheikh Zayed with Major Mixed-Use Development

Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Randa El-Menshawy, recently visited the 205 Project in Sheikh Zayed to review construction progress. Developed through a partnership between the New Urban Communities Authority and Arkan Palm Developments, the project represents a major mixed-use investment in West Cairo.
Spanning approximately 205 feddans, the development combines residential, commercial, administrative, medical, entertainment, and hospitality facilities. Its plans include three towers reaching up to 40 floors, a commercial and administrative district covering around 400,000 square metres, and three hotels offering approximately 600 rooms.
The project also features a two-kilometre waterway separating residential areas from service facilities, while only around 30% of the total land area is designated for construction.
The visit highlights Egypt’s continued focus on public-private partnerships and integrated urban developments. With its diverse facilities and strategic location in Sheikh Zayed, 205 is positioned to contribute to West Cairo’s growth as a destination for business, hospitality, and real estate investment. The first hotel is targeted to begin operations within 18 months, according to the reported project plans.
