Al-Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince Discuss Regional Security, Trade and Investment in Cairo

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Cairo, for talks covering regional security, trade, investment, and bilateral cooperation. The two leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening economic ties and agreed to intensify efforts to remove obstacles to increased trade and investment between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
The discussions come at a time when Saudi investment continues to play an important role in Egypt’s economy. According to recent figures cited by Ahram Online, accumulated Saudi investments in Egypt were estimated at around $25 billion, with Saudi capital active across sectors including real estate, tourism, energy, logistics, manufacturing, and financial services.
What This Could Mean for Egypt’s Real Estate Market
Real estate is already one of the major sectors attracting Saudi capital in Egypt. Stronger economic cooperation between the two countries could create additional opportunities for investment in residential, commercial, hospitality, tourism, and mixed-use developments.
For Egypt’s property market, increased Saudi investment could also support demand for large-scale developments and strategic projects, particularly in major investment destinations such as New Cairo, West Cairo, the New Administrative Capital, and the North Coast.
The connection between real estate and tourism is also significant. Greater cooperation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia could encourage investment in hotels, serviced residences, retail destinations, and mixed-use projects, creating opportunities beyond traditional residential development.
A Closer Economic Partnership
The latest Cairo meeting signals continued efforts by Egypt and Saudi Arabia to deepen their economic relationship. While the meeting itself does not announce a specific new real estate investment, the commitment to increasing investment flows provides an important backdrop for the Egyptian property market.
As Saudi investors continue to look toward Egypt, the real estate sector remains one of the key areas where future partnerships and capital flows could develop.
